Mothering Across Continents: Care and Compassion for AIDS Orphans in South Africa is a collaborative initiative launched in Charlotte, NC, and co-founded by two women professionals who have firsthand experiences with and commitments to supporting orphans and vulnerable children affected by HIV/AIDS.

In 2008, Mothering Across Continents will host several events Sharing Stories of Care and Compassion.

May 8 – An invitation only event featuring award winning Los Angeles-based documentary director Louise Hogarth and her latest film, Angels in the Dust, 6-8 p.m., 40th Floor, Executive Suite of Wachovia Corp., 301 S. College St. Louise will share the story of Marion Cloete, who – with her family -- walked away from a privileged life to create an orphanage and community serving 500 children. Also at this event attendees will meet Julia Zingu, Save the Children country director, from South Africa, and see Charlotte photographer Catherine Anderson’s recent coverage of the people and projects supported by Mothering Across Continents.
