Mothering Across
Continents: Care and Compassion for AIDS Orphans in South Africa
is a
collaborative initiative launched in Charlotte, NC,
and co-founded by two women professionals
who have firsthand experiences with and commitments to supporting
orphans and
vulnerable children affected by HIV/AIDS.
In 2008, Mothering
Across Continents will host several events Sharing
Stories of Care and Compassion.
May 8 – An invitation
only event featuring award winning Los
Angeles-based documentary director Louise Hogarth and her latest film, Angels in the Dust, 6-8 p.m., 40th
Floor, Executive Suite of Wachovia Corp., 301 S. College St. Louise
will share
the story of Marion Cloete, who – with her family -- walked away from a
privileged
life to create an orphanage and community serving 500 children. Also at
this
event attendees will meet Julia Zingu, Save the Children country
director, from South Africa,
and see Charlotte
photographer
Catherine Anderson’s recent coverage of the people and projects
supported by
Mothering Across Continents.
